WHY DO PEOPLE LIE?
Lying is an attitude that people apply to it
when they do not want to explain the truth or they want to hush up any events. Upon
human beings come across with any situation threating them, they might lie to
defend themselves. Fear and pressure are main reasons for people to lie. There are
many factors affecting people to lie. These are familial, environmental and
social factors.
The familial factors are the first reasons
to apply lie for people. As long as one of the family members lies, the others
also emulate his or her and lie. As the family is the first ambiance where
people have been, it has important role on people’s characters. People learn
what is true and wrong thanks to their families. The moment individuals realize
their family’s members lie, they think they can also tell a lie. Unless they
are not warned about lying by their parents, they get used to lying and it becomes
late to efface this behavior. At the same time, people tell lie not to
disappoint their family.
The environmental factors are the second
reasons to apply lie for people. When people do not want their special lives to
be known by others, they conceal the reality or tell lie not to be excluded. For
example, they conceal their poverty or their any deficiency from surrounding
people. People lie to reach their goals. For example, a mother who is far away
from their children wants to see them. She knows that they are busy and they
will not come without urgent situation so that she says to them she is ill.
The social factors are the third reasons
to apply lie for people. Because people want to be respected and admired by society,
they apply to lying. They want to be seen trustful. On the other hand, people
are affected social point of view. They also try to adjust to this outlook. When
they do not have enough features for it, they lie to be recognized. At the same
time, people tell lie to get power over other people.
For all you see, people can tell a lie for
many reasons. They apply to lying to avoid punishment, get a reward, protect
themselves, get out of awkward situation, maintain privacy and so on. Being
different from these reasons, people lie with good intention. If it is
necessary to classify the reason of lying, we can mention familial,
environmental and social factors.
** The familial factors are the first reasons (it can be better if you say "one of the reasons or the first reason" instead of "the first reasons".)
YanıtlaSil** Unless they are not warned about lying by their parents ( you can not use a negative sentence after "unless" )
** It's good to see new information that we've learned this week. Congratulations!
1) you are right Melike, but I wanted to grade according to order of their importance.
Sil2) Yes I definetly agree with you, I missed it.
Thank you your comments.
Thank you (missing preposition)your comments.
SilI wanted to correct it ,but there is not any button to getback.
Sil1-) Lying is an attitude that people apply to it (relative clause mistake) (paragraph 1, line 1)
YanıtlaSil2-) Upon (Wrong usage of adverbial clause) human beings come across with
(paragraph 1, line 2)
3-) threating(wrong word form) them (paragraph 1, line 3)
1) why is" that" wrong? I used it as "which". Could you explain?
Sil2) I thought that" Upon" corresponds "when" as a time clause. Am I mistaken? If so, please show the correct one.
3) I used reduction of relative clause .Normally ; which threats them. Is it wrong ?
1-) you used relative clause and then you used "it", which had already been defined by the relative clause
YanıtlaSil2-) After upon we use noun, noun phrase, and gerund. We cannot use "upon" as we use "when"
3-) threat is the noun form. You may write "threatening"
1) that is right.
Sil2) why did we see it as a time clause in our grammar book? Is the book wrong?
3)ok. thank you.
1) As long as one of the family members lies, the others also emulate his (wrong pronoun) or her and lie.
YanıtlaSil2) She knows that they are busy and they will not come without urgent situation so that she says to them she is ill.-->If you use "cannot" instead of "will not", it can be more sensible.
1) you may miss it. the subject is "one of.." that is why his/ her is true.
Sil2) I think "will" is true. I mean "they are not willing to come".
thank you.
